The Friends Of Cherry Lawn Park

Who we are:

A voluntary group of Darien residents dedicated to preserving the unique heritage of this multiple-use Park in a natural setting, and that provides a balance of active and passive activities without materially disturbing the Park’s natural surroundings.

The designers of Cherry Lawn Park had the wisdom to situate playing fields, parking and access roads, community gardens and limited structural facilities such as fencing and the Darien Nature Center in a manner that least disturbs the natural beauty of the Park. It is for the purpose of helping to perpetuate this heritage that The Friends of Cherry Lawn Park have come together as voluntary guardians.

It is our objective to work with the Darien Parks and Recreation Commission and other Town bodies and to be responsive to the Town’s recreational needs while continuing to preserve the special character of the Park.
